Kweku Awotwi is an experienced international business executive with over twenty-five years’ experience working in the energy sector, mining and extractive industries, in Africa and the United States.
He is the Board Chairman of United Bank for Africa.
Kweku is the former Executive Vice-President of Tullow Ghana Ltd, operator for Ghana’s Jubilee and TEN oilfields.
He was, prior to that, involved in Midway Resources International, an Oil and Gas Company and a principal of the Triton Group, a food processing and Distribution Company.
Between 2003 and 2004, he was the Acting Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority (VRA).
Other high-profile roles in the past include Managing Director of Strategic Planning and New Business Development at Ashanti Goldfields (AGC) and the Acting President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines. Before joining AGC, he was Manager of Business Planning and Analysis for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation in the USA where he worked for eight years.
He trained as an electrical engineer and has a BSc degree from Yale University and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
