The New Way of Selling in Challenging Times

The Chief Executive Officer of BrandTrendz Africa, Raymond Smith said on Smart Business Talk, a program powered by Step Up Business School on Sweet Melodies 94.3 FM that the only way a business can have successful transactions amid COVID-19 is by taking advantage of technology.

He said this will increase sales for many businesses. Mr. Smith stated this on Sweet Melodies’ Smart Business Talk program which discussed, ‘The New Way of Selling’. According to him, a lot has changed as a result of COVID-19. He said most businesses are not ready for physical transactions because of safety.
“Most clients are not ready for physical transactions because they are all following the necessary precautions against the coronavirus. Things have changed as a result of COVID-19 and have affected the usual way of selling. You will need a different approach to selling” he added.

Mr. Smith identified three approaches to sell successfully in this era, they are;

  • retooling – has to do with utilizing technologies that are already available
  • rethinking – applying knowledge to use the technology
  • reprogramming – formatting your approach to business now

These will bring back sales of organizations to normal during the coronavirus pandemic.

He urged businesses to identify the current needs of their clients and present solutions to them and also encouraged them to take advantage of using technology especially the various social media platforms.
